Power outages reported in county

The expected storm has arrived with high winds. West Penn Power is reporting outages in Butler County on Friday morning with 539 customers without power by 7:45 a.m. Central Electric reports 528 customers without power.

According to the National Weather Service, a winter weather advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. with wind advisory and wind chill warnings until 7 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24.

Snow showers are expected mainly before 11a.m. Friday with patchy blowing snow between 3 and 4 p.m. Temperatures will fall to around 0 by 1 p.m.

Winds gusts are expected as high as 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Wind chill values will be as low as -24 degrees. Expected snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches are possible Friday.
