Della M. Horan

Della M. Horan, 94, of 612 N. McKean St. died at 6:06 a.m. Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Tiona, Warren County, March 15, 1911, she was a daughter of John W. and Sarah Blanche Williams Ball.

She was a lifelong Butler resident and a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

Mrs. Horan was an avid bridge player and had been a member of the Armco Bridge Club, St. Peter's Bridge Club and several other local card clubs. She also belonged to the Butler Elks Auxiliary and was a life member the Catholic Daughters of America Court in Butler.

Surviving are three sons, Donald E. Horan and his wife, Carol, of Nashville, Tenn., Richard F. Horan, and his wife, Jill, of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Raymond J. Horan and his wife, Susan, of Lancaster; and two daughters, Katharine H. Little and her husband, William Little, of Chapel Hill, and Butler County Common Pleas Judge Marilyn J. Horan and her husband, Joseph W. Caparosa, of Butler. She also is survived by 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She also was loved and compassionately cared for by Dorothy Bures, Lynne DeFoggi, Alisa Green and Marilou Hollinger.

Her husband, Eugene F. Horan, whom she married Sept. 19, 1935, died June 23, 1965. She also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bridget Horan; three brothers, Jordon W., Eugene J. and Richard J. Ball; and a sister, Blanche E. Ball.

HORAN - Friends of Della M. Horan, who died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.Members of the C.D. of A., Butler Court 443, will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:40 a.m. Monday at the church.Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
