Leona I. Wimer
Leona I. Wimer, 78, formerly of the Grove City area, died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity Living Center, Grove City.
She was born March 29, 1933, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Cecil L. McCurdy and Zelma E. (Sowash) McCurdy.
She was a 1951 graduate of Sharon High School.
Mrs. Wimer was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Forestville United Methodist Church and a former member of the East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City.
She was an avid genealogist and was very active with her family. She also was very artistic, designing greeting cards and very active playing cards with ladies and couples groups.
Surviving are her husband, Martin M. “Pete” Wimer of Grove City, who she married June 30, 1951; a daughter, Barbara A. Arblaster and her husband, David S., of Slippery Rock; three sons, Donald A. Wimer and his wife, Diane, of Jordan, Minn., Martin B. Wimer and his wife, Christi, of Holidaysburg and Randall L. Wimer and his wife, Cindy, of Slippery Rock; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Valerie Jean Dickson and her husband, Delmar, of Baltimore, Md., and Ida L. McCurdy Best of Cocoa, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons.
