Timothy James Olexsak
Timothy James Olexsak, 60, of Connoquenessing was witty, virtuous, inquisitive and hardworking. He was born May 1, 1955, in Butler, and he passed away Tuesday.
During his senior year at Butler High School, he met his loving wife, Mariellen. Ever since they married July 1, 1978, it's always been “Tim and Mary.”
Tim's career as a fabricator in the area's steel industry spanned 40 years, where he took much pride from his work. He was most recently employed by Woodward in Mars.
Over the years, he built his family's home, which he designed and constructed with the finest craftsmanship with the help of his friends and family.
Tim bestowed in his children a deep respect for the environment that led his daughter Sarah to devote her work to sustainable energy.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he was a lifetime member of the Butler Hunting and Fishing Club. His appreciation of the sport inspired his son Jacob's career as a Pennsylvania wildlife conservation officer.
A longtime supporter of WYEP, Tim had an incredible ability to find artists with unique and innovative sounds. He loved going to concerts and discovering new music with his son Andrew.
Tim's never-ending thirst for knowledge and sense of adventure led him and his family on travels near and far. If you were fortunate enough to know Tim, you have heard of all of these things and more in one of his many stories.
Tim was a member of St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Prospect, where he was active in the parish community for more than 35 years.

(Hook) Olexsak; his children, Sarah (Jacob Robison) Olexsak of Washington, D.C., and Jacob (Kristin) Olexsak; his grandsons, Lukas and Liam Olexsak of Hartstown, Pa., and Andrew Olexsak of Connoquenessing; three brothers, Rodney (Barbara) Bachman, Michael Olexsak and Patrick Olexsak; his sister, Patricia (Paul) Turk; his brother-in-law, Jim (Stephanie) Hook; his sisters-in-law, Judy (Marvin) Grossman and Martha McClure; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
