At 19, she married her sweetheart, Ron Burdett (Kermie), and enjoyed 63 happily married years together. Though she never had children of her own, many affectionately referred to Margie as “Mom.”
Margie was a loving, selfless, caring woman, who spent her life thinking of others and sharing the love of Jesus wherever she went. She spent more than 50 years in the ministry. In her early years, she was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Karns City, where she taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school and youth camps; she graduated from Bible Teaching Institute in Cleveland, Tenn.
Margie was an ordained minister of the Church of God of Prophecy in Cleveland, Tenn., and the Church of God of Andersen, Ind., and served as the pastor of the Church of God in East Liverpool, Ohio, for many years. She held many revivals and touched the lives of countless youth in the area. Margie was involved in prison ministry. She visited numerous prisons in Missouri and Florida, and brought many prisoners to Christ.
She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
“Our aunt had ears that listened, arms that hugged and held, a love that never ended, and a heart made of gold.”
Margie is survived by her husband, Ron Burdett of Calcutta, Ohio; and her sister, Joan Forsythe of Rimersburg, Pa.
