1 dead in Evans City Road crash
A 19-year-old male died in a single-vehicle crash on Evans City Road Sunday morning, Jan. 8, 2023, state police said.
According to a news release, Conner J. Checkan, of Butler, was driving eastbound on the road in a 2012 Volkswagen GTI.
Checkan lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons and struck a tree near Stevenson Road, Connoquenessing Township, police said.
Checkan died of injuries suffered in the crash, police said.
Crews were on scene for more than two hours.
