Violet Donaldson
Violet M. Donaldson, 86, of Ross Township, formerly of Middlesex Township, where she resided for 50 years, died Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.
Born in Millvale, May 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Paul M. and Anna Thompson Wolfarth.
A homemaker, Violet was known for her meticulous housekeeping and cooking, especially on holidays for her family. She also loved showing off pictures of her great-grandchildren to everyone she could.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown.
Surviving is her husband, John W. “Red” Donaldson, who she married Nov. 17, 1945. She is the mother of John W. “Jack” Donaldson and his wife, Betty Ann, of Wexford; grandmother of Justin Donaldson and his wife, Denise, and Adam Donaldson and his wife, Jenny; great-grandmother of Teresa Ann, Isaac Marcus, Abby Lynn and Luke Adam Donaldson; and sister of Ann Wolfarth of Wilkinsburg, Mabel Peterson of Shaler Township, and Harold Wolfarth in Florida.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul and Bernard Wolfarth; and her sisters, Lucille Thompson and Thelma Chenot.
