Harrisville man dies in Venango County crash
A Harrisville man was killed on Thursday in Venango County when his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic.
Cody J. Donaldson, 28, of Harrisville was heading south on Route 8 in Irwin Township at 10:17 a.m. when his 2000 Subaru Impreza crossed the centerline and hit a tractor-trailer truck that was traveling north, according to Franklin State Police reports.
Police said he suffered fatal injuries and was not transported to a hospital.
Donaldson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, police documents stated.
The driver of the truck, James H. Kuhn II, 45, of McArthur, Ohio suffered minor injuries and was evaluated by ambulance personnel at the scene, but not taken to the hospital, police said.
The Impreza traveled off the west side of the road and came to rest after the crash, while the truck continued north for a short distance before traveling into the southbound lane and then off the west side of Route 8.
It is not known why Donaldson’s vehicle crossed the centerline.
