Transit authority board still needs 1 member
BUTLER TWP — The Butler Transit Authority Board of Directors is still down one member, after Joe Gray resigned from the board effective in December.
The authority’s executive director, John Paul, told the remaining board members at Tuesday’s meeting that the County Commission has not chosen someone to fill the seat to round out a full, six-person board.
“The county commissioners make that decision; we do not appoint our own board members,” Paul said.
Gray was the board’s vice chairman, so the board voted to elect Joe Hasychak at Tuesday’s meeting to fill that role.
Paul also received approval from the board to attend the Community Transportation Association of America Expo in May in Oklahoma City.
The board members approved the $585 registration cost for the expo, as well as the travel costs associated with the trip.
Paul said he has never been to a CTAA expo, but could gain some insight from it.
“It’s my understanding that it’s for smaller members,” Paul said. “I’m just looking to go and get a little education.”
