Ruby J. Shidemantle McNichol, 83, of Portersville passed away Friday afternoon with her loving family by her side in UPMC Passavant.

Born June 13, 1932, in Portersville, she was the daughter of the late Blaine and Susan Bauder Shidemantle.

She was a Presbyterian.

Ruby was self-employed as an auctioneer. She enjoyed collecting the items she had been hired to sell.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Scheidemantle, on Nov. 1, 2009.

She is survived by her husband, Robert McNichol; one daughter, Cindy (Norman) Scheidemantle Giles of Harmony; one son, Martin Scheidemantle of Alaska; one sister, Grace Cheeseman of Portersville; and three granddaughters, Aislinn Kastelan of Denver, Colo., and Eliza and Ellen Scheidemantle of Washington.

MCNICHOL — A gathering of friends for Ruby J. Shidemantle McNichol, who died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Portersville Presbyterian Church, 1297 Perry Highway.
