Paige Lauten’s condition improving

The physical condition of Paige Lauten, a 13-year-old girl hit by a vehicle Nov. 29 on Route 228 near Mars Area Middle School, continues to improve through physical therapy, and she recently has begun to take steps.

A Sunday post on the Prayers for Paige L Facebook page said Paige is “showing her true personality and spirit more and more each and every day,” and “talks nonstop and makes the nurses and other patients smile and laugh throughout their days.”

A post on the page last week said Paige is undergoing therapy for speech, physical, occupational rehabilitation since being hit by the vehicle.

The post also said Paige still has a long way to go, but her family is happy with how far she has come since November.

In addition to the Facebook page where her family is sharing updates, Paige’s softball team, River City Venom, had a T-shirt fundraiser page to raise money to help with her medical bills. That shop’s last day was Jan. 11.
