Hellcat thieves indicted

A federal grand jury has indicted two Michigan men, charging them with traveling to Butler County to steal specific expensive, high-performance cars.

Dorale Leshawn Doyle, 40, of Southfield, Mich., and Ladon Richard Rogers, 39, of Allen Park, Mich., were charged with conspiracy and interstate transportation of stolen motor vehicles, according to a Tuesday news release from the Department of Justice.

U.S. Attorney Cindy K. Chung of the Western District of Pennsylvania alleges Doyle and Rogers engaged in a scheme in which they would travel from Michigan to various locations in Western Pennsylvania to steal Dodge Challenger Hellcats from Nov. 1, 2021, to Aug. 3, 2022. Two of the victim dealerships were in Butler County.

Police received a tip July 20, 2022, from a Michigan law enforcement agency saying the pair would be targeting Hellcat model vehicles while driving in a 2004 GMC Sierra. The provided Sierra’s license plate number.
