Phyllis Roth
Phyllis E. Roth, of Altoona, Iowa, formerly of Prospect, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, in Iowa after an illness.
She was born in Butler, and was the daughter of Kathleen and Earl Zeigler.
Phyllis had been a resident of Prospect for 63 years, until she moved to Iowa to be closer to her family.
Phyllis graduated from Slippery Rock High School, and was in the second graduating class of Butler County Community College.
She was employed by Fuellgraf Electric for 16 years, then worked for Butler County in probation and parole for 26 years.
She had been a member of the Twentieth Century Club of Prospect, and a 63-year member of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, where she served as a trustee. Upon moving to Iowa, she became a member of Altoona Christian Church, where she made wonderful friends. Phyllis was also a member of the Ladies Adventurers Club in Prospect.
Survivors include her son, Brian (Barbara) Roth of Iowa; one grandson, Brendan (Danielle) Roth; one granddaughter, Megan Roth; one great-grandson, Sullivan David Roth; one sister, Jean (Larry) Taggart; two brothers-in-law, Thomas (Regina) Roth and Terry McClymonds; and several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis leaves behind her many cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Roth, whom she married Aug. 29,1958, and who died Jan. 14, 2021; and one sister, Joyce McClymonds.
ROTH — A family service is being planned to celebrate the life of Phyllis E. Roth, who died Friday, Jan. 13, 2023.
Interment will take place in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Prospect.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prospect Community Library or to Shriners Hospital.
