Raymond G. Campbell Jr., 87, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at the Grove at Harmony.

He was born June 2, 1935, in Franklin, and was the son of the late Raymond G. and Amanda (Zorb) Campbell.

Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a member of American Legion Post 117.

After the military, he worked for Pratt & Whitney and then at NASA. He also worked at Pullman Standard, Armco, Butler Motor Transit, and retired after 21 years from Allegheny County Port Authority.

Ray was a member of North Main Street Church of God. He was a member the Radio Flyers Club.

He enjoyed fishing, traveling, but most of all, spending time with his family.

Surviving are his children, Robert Campbell of Butler, David (Regina) Campbell of Butler, Richard (Heidi) Campbell of Cape Coral, Fla., and Linda (Wade) Peters of East Butler; eight grandchildren; his son-in-law, John J. McCurry of Butler; a number of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patty Dietrich of Warren, and Carol (Ray) Keith of Warren; three brothers, Jerry (Cheryl) Dietrich of Warren, Charlie (Sue) Dietrich of Jamestown, N.Y., and Kerry (Mary) Dietrich of Meadville; and a number of step-children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Campbell; his second wife, Diana Amos-Campbell; his daughter, Lorie McCurry; two sisters; and a brother.

CAMPBELL — Friends of Raymond G. Campbell Jr., who died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday with military honors at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Private burial will be held in Butler County Memorial Park.
