Rebecca Houllion

Houllion

Surrounded by family, Rebecca Jo “Becky” Houllion, of Renfrew, took her last walk down the street in her journey of life on Jan. 24, 2023. She finally got the green light and Jesus said, “It’s safe to cross. Come with Me.”

Born in Butler on Dec. 16, 1970, Becky was the daughter of Sally Anne Napora Houllion and the late Robert J. Houllion, who passed away Sept. 20, 2021.

Becky was a 1989 graduate of Butler High School, where she was homecoming queen. She went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Clarion University.

She was a paraprofessional with the Butler Area School District, and she was also employed at the Ace Hardware store in Butler.

She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Becky had an infectious laugh and a huge smile. She loved music, the beach, and sports, especially Gonzaga University basketball.

She willingly and generously gave her time to speak with groups and individuals about bone marrow transplants. In recognition of her determined, heroic fight against her health challenges, Becky received the St. Francis Health Foundation’s Courage to Come Back Award and the Paul Evans Leukemia Award.

She is survived by her mother, Sally Houllion of Renfrew; one brother, Jeffrey Houllion of Mount Lebanon; two sisters, Shelley Duffy-Alexander and her husband, Paul, of Mount Lebanon, and Jennifer Cadamore and her husband, Brian, of Cabot; one aunt, Joanne McCracken of Butler; one uncle, John Napora of Florida; eight nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous cousins.

“This isn’t goodbye, Boo Bear. We will all be together again.”
