A Donegal Township man will vie for a county commissioner seat on the Republican ticket.

Zach Scherer, who made his announcement on Thursday, Jan. 26, evening, said in a news release “his plan is focused on restoring transparency to Butler County residents by varying public commissioner meeting times to provide transparency by providing meetings at different times so that all Butler County residents have an opportunity to attend and have a voice in their community, live stream all public commissioners meetings, and add 30-minute sessions at the end of all public commissioners meetings for the public to ask questions directly to the county commissioners.“
