A group of Butler doctors will join new physicians group Wednesday
Primary Care Associates of Butler will join Pittsburgh-based Genesis Medical Associates, effective Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Primary Care Associates formerly was affiliated with Butler Health System and has offices at 480 E. Jefferson St. in Butler.
Melissa Forster, Butler Health System communications and marketing specialist, said Tuesday via email that the transition will not affect patient care or access to the physicians, who will remain at the East Jefferson Street location.
The doctors will retain staffing privileges with Butler Memorial Hospital, Forster said.
“Genesis is an independent health care group and will continue to use the high-quality services that Butler Health System has to offer, including specialty, inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary health care services,” Forster said in the statement.
She said patients of Primary Care Associates are being notified of this change, and no other Butler Health System primary care providers will be affected.
It was not disclosed whether Primary Care Associates will see patients at other Genesis locations or if Genesis doctors from Pittsburgh will see patients at the East Jefferson Street location.
The building housing Primary Care Associates is being renovated, so the practice could not be reached Tuesday as they install an upgraded telephone system.
According to the Butler County tax map, Butler Health System still owns the East Jefferson Street building.
