Madlyn Englehart
Madlyn Bryan Eppinger Englehart, 74 of Richmond Hill, Ga., formerly of Lugoff, S.C. and Slippery Rock, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born on March 12, 1948, in New Castle, the daughter to Guy Alexander Eppinger and Eula Mae Isler Eppinger. She graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1966 and graduated from Robert Morris Junior College with her associate degree in 1967. Madlyn married John C. Englehart on Dec. 16, 1967. John preceded her in death on July 17, 1970.
Madlyn worked for 30 years as an administrative assistant at Slippery Rock University until her retirement in 2005. She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Lyttleton Street Methodist Church in Camden S.C.
Survivors include her daughter, Ree Ann (Doug) Standiford of Richmond Hill, Ga.; three grandchildren, Lainey Powell, Shelby Standiford and Caden Standiford; and one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Blake Powell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson, John E. Standiford.
ENGLEHART — A memorial service for Madlyn Bryan Eppinger Englehart, who died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2023, at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, with family receiving friends from 4 to 7 p.m. the same day, June 26, at the funeral home.
