Mary L. (Ashenbaugh) Kabay

Mary L. (Ashenbaugh) Kabay, 72, of Chicora was called to God's eternal reward peacefully Monday with her family by her side.

She was born Dec. 3, 1942, in Natrona Heights to the late Christopher Ashenbaugh and Helen (Barr) Ashenbaugh.

Mary worked as a bookkeeper for 31 years for Filges Fabricating retiring in 2010.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed sewing and working in her garden. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family at home and at camp in Loleta.

Mary is survived by her husband, John Kabay, who she married on April 11, 1964; two sons, John Kabay Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Fenelton, and Robert Kabay and his wife, Dayna, of East Brady; one daughter, Cheri Caporali and her husband, Ron, of West Sunbury; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Hanna, Kelly, Courtney, Justin, Kendall and Owen; her sister, Virginia Carter of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Herschl, and one brother, George Ashenbaugh.

KABAY — In accordance with the wishes of Mary L. (Ashenbaugh) Kabay, who died Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, there will be no public visitation.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev. Harry Bielewicz of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church officiating. Please everyone meet at the church.A private burial will be in North Butler Cemetery of Oakland Township.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.The Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Butler, is assisting with the arrangements.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
