Fire damages Harmony plastics manufacturing business

Crews responded Thursday to a fire at U.S. Liner Company’s Harmony-based facility on Zeigler Street.

HARMONY — Fire departments from three counties quickly extinguished a Thursday morning fire at a plastics manufacturing business.

Smoke was reported at 8:10 a.m. to be emanating from Cranberry Township-based U.S. Liner Company’s three-building manufacturing facility on Utah Street in Harmony. No one was injured.

Fire and smoke was coming from the roof of one of the company buildings as firefighters were en route to the scene, prompting a second alarm for additional fire departments to respond, said Harmony Fire District Deputy Fire Chief Doug Pickett

“We had multiple aerials up to get people on the roof and multiple hand lines,” Pickett said.
