Medical assistance, CHIP recipients urged to update info
Those enrolled in the state Medicaid program, also known as medical assistance, or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) are urged to check their contact information as a deadline approaches.
Recent federal law changes will renew guidelines on April 30, so some in the program may not receive updates on their benefits if their contact information is not updated.
That could slow down annual renewal of Medicaid and CHIP or in some cases, cause coverage to be dropped, according to a news release from the state Department of Health and Gov. Josh Shapiro.
Those enrolled in either program should log onto their COMPASS account to make any necessary changes to their cases, such as number living in the household or new email address, phone number or mailing address.
The department urges users to sign up for e-notifications to receive information about their benefits.
