Vehicle chase through city ends with Clarion man’s arrest
City police arrested a Clarion man Thursday, Feb. 9, night after a vehicle chase through the city ending at Zenith Road in Butler Township.
State police alerted city officers that Raymond McIntyre, 28, was wanted on a warrant from Clarion County Probation and had threatened “suicide by cop,” according to a news release.
Police said they encountered McIntyre at about 7 p.m. in the city. When they attempted to arrest him, he fled in a vehicle.
According to reports, McIntyre’s attempt to flee resulted in him driving the wrong way and committing multiple stop sign, red light and speeding violations. At one point, McIntyre started to drive through backyards and his vehicle got stuck, police said.
Police then took McIntyre and an adult female into custody. The car was towed from Zenith Road.
Police said there were no collisions during the fleeing attempt and no one was injured.
McIntyre is facing numerous charges in addition to the probation warrant.
Police plan to keep him at the Butler County Prison while awaiting arraignment.
Butler Township and state police assisted.
