Dollar General announced Monday that its new location at 920 New Castle Road in Worth Township is open for business.

The store, located not far from Slippery Rock, is expected to employ approximately six to 10 people.

“At Dollar General, we believe the addition of each new store provides positive economic growth for the communities we proudly serve, and the addition of our new Slippery Rock store highlights our commitment to deliver a pleasant shopping experience that includes great prices on quality products in a convenient location,” Matthew Simonsen, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development, said.

To mark the new store, Dollar General said it will donate 100 new books to a nearby elementary school.

The donation, to be made in partnership with the Kellogg Company, will be part of a planned donation of more than 60,000 books during the fiscal year 2022 across the country to celebrate new Dollar General store openings.
