Jean Crispin, 85, formerly of Butler, passed away Friday at the ManorCare Nursing Home in Hemet, Calif., after an extended illness.

Born Aug. 17, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Wolford) Thompson of West Sunbury.

As a longtime resident of Butler, Jean was a member of the Westminster PCA.

She was an accomplished professional seamstress for Troutman's and private clientele.

Jean married Everett "Cris" Crispin Jr. on Feb. 14, 1942. He passed away March 17, 1991.

She and her husband enjoyed their retirement in Jacksonville, Fla., since 1982.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, John and the Rev. Edward "Tom" Thompson; and one sister, Roberta (Dewey) Gardner.

She is survived by her children, Dave (Connie) Crispin of Sun City, Calif., Diane Crispin of Jacksonville, Fla., and Cheri (Mark) Pentz of Columbus Ohio; eight grandchildren, Michelle Crispin and Renae (Matthew) Kennedy, both of Long Beach, Calif., Melinda (Joseph) Konoske of Cypress, Calif., Lee (Alina) Barstow and Lindsey Bowen, both of Jacksonville, Fla., and Michael (Yvonne) Pentz, Matthew Pentz and Michelle Pentz, all of Columbus, Ohio.

Jean also is survived by eight precious great-grandchildren, Max and Stella Broome, Valeria and Simone Kennedy, Myles and Mason Konoske and Angelina and Tyler Barstow.

She also is survived by three sisters, Pearl (Charles) Wamboldt of Slippery Rock, Katie (Charles) Luppe of Butler and Joann Johnson of San Diego, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Marie (Raymond) Covert of Butler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

<B>CRISPIN</B> Memorial service and interment for Jean Crispin, who died Friday, April 17, 2009, will be in Jacksonville, Fla., with final arrangements pending.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jean's memory to Ramona Hospice, 890 W.
