Rice

William L. “Porky” Rice, 79, of Butler, passed away on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

He was born on Sept. 16, 1943, and was a son of the late William Rice and Mary (Gallagher) Rice.

He had worked in the storeroom for the Armco Steel plant in Butler, retiring after 28 years.

He loved anything that had to do with racing, going to car shows and NASCAR.

Surviving is his stepdaughter, Tracy (Dan) Hartman of Butler; his granddaughter, Saxon Hartman of Butler; his lifelong best friends, Craig Hughes and Elizabeth Ragan; several cousins; and many friends from his racing days.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

RICE — Private burial will be held for William L. “Porky” Rice, who died Friday, Feb. 17, 2023.
