Police: West Virginia pair stole truck from Cranberry dealership

Two people from West Virginia have been charged with stealing a truck from a dealership’s lot in Cranberry Township, police said Wednesday, March 1.

According to documents filed Tuesday, Feb. 28, Cranberry Township police charged Shawn A. Gill, 43, and Abby R. Callison, 40, both of Lewisburg, W.Va., with six felonies, including theft and conspiracy.

Police were informed of the theft at Manheim Pittsburgh auto auction on Route 19 around 4:30 p.m. Feb. 13. Employees reported a black Toyota Tacoma valued at $37,000 missing from behind the building.

Surveillance footage showed two people, later identified as Gill and Callison, approaching the back entrance in a GMC Yukon. They proceed past the security gate on foot, then two vehicles are seen being driven away from the dealership south on Route 19, police said.

New Sewickley Township police in Allegheny County reported Feb. 14 that the Yukon was found abandoned near the municipality’s border with Cranberry Township. The vehicle was discovered to be stolen from Greenbrier County, West Virginia.

Police said a Greenbrier County detective confirmed the identities of Gill and Callison.

Gill was apprehended Feb. 23 after a vehicle pursuit in West Virginia, according to documents. Police said he admitted to the thefts of the Yukon and the Tacoma. Callison remains at large.

Preliminary hearings for Gill and Callison are not yet scheduled.
