Paul J. Dininger

Paul J. Dininger, 78, of Sarver passed away at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday while in the company of family members at Sugar Creek Rest, Worthington.

Paul was born in the Butler Junction area of Freeport on June 27, 1931, the son of the late Paul P. and Sadie (Doerr) Dininger. He was a lifelong resident of Butler County.

He was a medic in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a machinist for the Cheswick division of Westinghouse.

Paul was a past member of the Natrona Heights VFW Post 894, and in his younger days, he was very active in the bowling league at his work. He also was a coach for Freeport Area Little League for many years.

Paul is survived by his three sons, Randy Dininger of Cabot, Ray (Debbie) Dininger of Natrona Heights and Jay Dininger of Kittanning; three daughters, Pamela (Charles) Ayers of Sarver, Amy (Wes) Harris Jr. of Sarver and Polly (Jeff) Skiles of Butler; and four sisters, Kathleen Bowman of Long Beach, Calif., Dorothy Dininger of Sarver, Mildred Cook of Sarver and Lucille (Jay) Minich of Natrona Heights.

Paul also is survived by his eight grandchildren, Kristie (Devlin) Hynniman, Mary Lynn Wolf, Christopher Dininger, Kylie Freshwater, Kami (Derek) Hansen, Wesley (Dottie) Harris III, Jana Skiles and Bobbie Rae Dininger; and seven great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ella Grace, Lucas, Sadie, Emma, Wesley IV and Claire.

<B>DININGER</B> — Family and friends of Paul J. Dininger, who died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B>, 524 High St., Freeport. Natrona Heights VFW Post 894 will hold a military memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeremy Andrews of McKee Chapel, Worthington, officiating.
