Donald Frederick Sr.

Donald R. Frederick Sr., 76, of Butler, formerly of Harmony, died Sunday afternoon at his home.

Born Jan. 23, 1932, in Harmony, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Elsie Barkley Frederick Sr.

He retired from Robinson Industries, Zelienople, after 23 years. He had worked at J&L Steel for 15 years before its closing.

Before moving to Butler, he was associated with Grace Church of Harmony.

Mr. Frederick was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a private in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by three sons, Donald R. Frederick Jr. of Butler, Michael L. Frederick of Evans City and Gregory A. Frederick of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Pam (William)Monper of Lyndora and Ms. Vicki Matthews of Butler; three brothers, Charles Frederick of Zelienople, Richard Frederick of South Carolina and Robert Frederick of South Carolina; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Cupps of Mars; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence L. McClelland Frederick, whom he married Nov. 17, 1956, and who died May 13, 1997; and three brothers and a sister.

<B>FREDERICK</B> — Friends and relatives of Donald R. Frederick Sr., who died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home</B>, Evans City.Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter Everett officiating.
