Harry E. McMillin

Harry E. McMillin Jr., 84, of Parker passed away Thursday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

Born in Kaylor, Pa., on Nov. 14, 1926, he was the son of Harry E. Sr. and Mildred King McMillin.

A graduate of Karns City High School, he also graduated from Butler Business College.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theater of Operations with the U.S. Army. He was proud to have served with Gen. Douglas MacArthur in MacArthur's office in the Philippines.

Harry was a member of the American Legion of Parker.

He retired as a sales representative with the former Witco Chemical Co. of Petrolia.

Mr. McMillin was a member for more than 60 years of the First Presbyterian Church at Parker. At the church, he was an ordained elder and trustee, and he had served as president of Parker Presbyterian Cemetery.

He was a member and past master of the Parker City-Allegheny Valley Lodge F. and A.M. 521 as well as a member of the Coudersport Consistory.

He is survived by his wife, the former Eleanor L. Stewart, who he married June 24, 1949; two daughters, Patty (Ronald) Monaco of Florida and Connie McMillin of Texas; two grandchildren, Lance and Claire; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Janet (Jack) Barger and Mildred (Darryl) Parker of Fairview (Petrolia), and Dorothy Whitehouse of New York; one brother, Stanley (Barbara) McMillin of Cleveland, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews.

<B>MCMILLIN</B> — A public memorial service for Harry E. McMillen Jr., who died Thursday, May 19, 2011, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Parker with the Rev. Richard Anschutz, pastor, officiating.Arrangements are handled by the <B>Buzard Funeral Home</B> of Parker.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a charity of choice.
