Flored N. "Flo" Myers, 83, of Parker died Friday morning at the home of her daughter in Knox, Clarion County, after a long illness.

Born in Parker, Nov. 19, 1923, she was the daughter of Walter and Bertha Cook Marshall.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Parker.

Mrs. Myers had belonged to the VFW Post 7073 Ladies Auxiliary of Parker since 1960 and had been a longtime member of the former of American Legion Post 598 Ladies Auxiliary of Parker, then located in Perryville.

During her teenage years, the late Kenneth "Ken" Christy of Parker and later of Butler, developed the famous "Christy Curl" in his Christy Barber Shop in Parker. As word spread worldwide on this new method of styling hair, she became one of his proteges in modeling the curl. She was one of eight Parker residents featured in the May 2, 1938, issue of Life magazine and still owned an original copy of that issue.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Hindman Lieberum of Knox.; two sons, Thomas E. Myers and his wife, Nancy, and John Robert Myers and his wife, Jamie, all of Parker; three grandchildren, Kelly Stiglitz and Aaron and Emily Ann Myers; four step-grandchildren, Adrienne and Casey McBrien, and William Kelly and Kolby Eaker; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by a sister, Judy Shoup of Polk; and many nieces and nephews.

Her first husband, William Hindman, was killed in World War II during action in Italy in 1945. She then married Robert H. Myers on May 2, 1949, and he died Feb. 5, 1983. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria J. Myers, who died Aug. 6, 1993; two sisters, Pauline Merwin and Mary Jane Meals; and two brothers, Eugene and John Marshall.

<B>MYERS</B> — Friends of Flored N. "Flo" Myers, who died Friday, April 27, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, Wayne Street, Parker. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Anschutz, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Parker, officiating. Burial will be in Perryville Cemetery, near Parker.
