Dorothy Stanley

Dorothy M. Stanley, 78, of Butler passed away Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born Aug. 18, 1934, in Butler County, and was the daughter of the late Pete and Nell (Miskol) Lasichak.

She was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church. Dorothy retired from Butler High School where she was a secretary in the library for 20 years. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, reading and especially gardening.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Cara Jo) Flinner of Prospect; her sons, Robert E. (Debbie) Stanley Jr. of Germantown, Wis., and William A. (Sue) Stanley of Portersville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gordon (Margie) Stetzer of Butler and Mrs. John (Bertha) Povlick of Butler; and her brother, John (Karen) Lasichak of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Stanley, who she married July 9, 1955, and who died Dec. 2, 2010.

STANLEY — Friends of Dorothy M. Stanley, who passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Robert Coval of the St. John's Lutheran Stone Church, Harmony, officiating.Interment will be in the Butler County Memorial Park, Butler.Contributions may be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 160 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
