David R. McCann, 81, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

Born Jan. 9, 1942, in Butler, he was the son of the late John B. and Lillian E. Hohn McCann.

David was an active member of the First Church of God in New Bethlehem, where he was involved with Missions of Love and the men’s breakfast. He was also an active member of the Squirrel Hill Cemetery Association and the Red Bank Valley Food Bank.

David leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Richard McCann, Doug (Lori) McCann, Jim (Cheryl) McCann and Jen (Bob) Kosar; his grandchildren, Nicole McCann, Conor McCann, Rhiannon Kosar, Jena McCann and Ryan McCann; and his siblings, Ray McCann and Joyce Ace.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joanne A. McDonald McCann, who passed away on July 24, 2020.

MCCANN — Friends of David R. McCann, who died Saturday, March 4, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Church of God, 418 Brian Lane, New Bethlehem, Pa., with Pastor Zack Lays officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.

David will be laid to rest at Squirrel Hill Cemetery in New Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s honor to the First Church of God, 418 Brian Lane, New Bethlehem, PA 16242.
