Joseph Bishop
Joseph John Bishop, 92, of Butler, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 25, 1930, in Kaylor, and was the son of the late Arthur William Bishop Sr. and H. Elizabeth (West) Bishop.
Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was a retired teacher from the Butler Junior High School.
Joseph enjoyed golfing, traveling, and was an avid reader.
Surviving are his wife, Lois M. Bishop of Butler; two daughters, Lori (Pastor Andrew) Sass of Byron, N.Y., and Cynthia Johnston of Slippery Rock; his son, Joseph Scott (Lori) Bishop of Butler; three stepdaughters, Penelope (Kurt) Sinclair of Silver Spring, Md., Veronica (Mike) Trojanovich of Natrona Heights, and Lavonne Beamish of New Kensington; five stepsons, T. Edward (Jean) Grey of Butler, Robert (Monica) Grey of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Zachary (Rebecca) Grey of Butler, Quintin (Sherry) Grey of Mercer, and Lorrin (Beverly) Grey of Butler, 34 grandchildren, Byron, Tyler, Kara, Sarah, Amelia, Jessica, Amanda, Bethany, Jacob, Matthew, Gabrealle, Emily, Edward, Aynesleah, Trevalyn, Ashley, Halsey, Desiree, Marissa, Jeremy, Shane, Candace, Alana, Garret, Travis, Megan, Chelsea, Alexander, Jasmine, Sammantha, Schylour, Avery, Gavin and Bailey; 35 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Tyler, Micah, Gwendolyn, Drew, Ada, Blake, Luka, Theodore, Andrew, James, Ryan, Jasmine, Luccille, Rexx, Ellvia, Greyson, Caellum, Lorelei, Leonard, Declan, Johnienne, Brady, Connor, Morrigan, Owen, Kaleb, Kaiden, Eleanor, Keighan, Jude, Rivers, Vivienne, Penelope and Eleanor; and a great-great-granddaughter, Anne.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister; two brothers; and his granddaughter, Kourtney.
