Wesley Reed Scott
Wesley Reed Scott, 87, of Butler passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 25, 1926, in Butler to the late Eugene M. Scott and Nancy (Campbell) Scott.
Mr. Scott was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.
He worked in the weld shop at Butler Armco Steel for 40 years, retiring in 1986.
Mr. Scott was a member of the 272 Butler Lodge F&AM, the A.A.S.R. Valley of New Castle, the Syria Temple of Pittsburgh, the Caravan 14 of Butler, the Butler Shrine Luncheon Club, the Saxony Shrine, the VFW Post 7376 of Saxonburg and the Butler Hunting and Fishing Club.
Mr. Scott is survived by two daughters, Catherine Kane and her husband, Bruce, of Torrington, Conn., and Sandra Scott of Harrisburg, Pa.; one son, Gordon R. Scott and his wife, Debra, of Cabot; three grandchildren, Christopher Scott and his wife, Tracy, Stephen Scott and Jonathan Kane; two great-grandsons, Wesley and Benjamin Scott; one sister, Maxine Myers and her husband, Thomas, of Butler; and one brother, David Keith Scott of Butler.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, F. Joan Scott, who he married May 16, 1947, and who passed away Sept. 25, 2012, and two brothers.
SCOTT — Friends of Wesley Reed Scott, who passed away Monday, April 29, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev.
