Joyce “Joy” A. Johnson

Joyce “Joy” A. Johnson, 69, of Butler passed away Tuesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born June 24, 1946, in Butler, the daughter of the late George and Marjorie (Patrizio) Laconi.

Joy was a member of St. Peter's Church and a graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1964.

She was an entertainer who loved people and liked to have fun. She enjoyed shopping, interior decorating, cooking and her card club. She had been the owner of a restaurant and catering business and had been a member of the Jr. Women's Club.

Joy's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Jody Ford and Ed Ginny Johnson.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, William Johnson of Butler, who she married June 5, 1965; her daughter, Shelley (Johnson) Wolfe and her husband, Dan, of Butler; her son, Dirk Johnson and his wife, Sheila, of Ebensburg; her grandchildren, Adam and Amanda Wolfe and Jordan, Zander, Nolan and Karson Johnson; her sister, Eloise (Laconi) Janeczko and her husband, Jerry, of Ohio; her nephew and niece, Blake and Britnee Spryn; her great-niece, Bailee Spryn; and her special dog, Pebbles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, James Laconi.

JOHNSON — Friends and family of Joyce “Joy” A. Johnson, who died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at noon Saturday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with the Rev.
