Police investigating reported Washington Township shooting
WASHINGTON TWP — State police are investigating a shooting reported Monday near the North Washington Rodeo grounds.
Emergency services dispatch received a call at 3:18 p.m. indicating that a male was shot in the back and the shooter reported the shooting.
Several troopers were at the scene just off of Route 38 on a side road a short distance south of the rodeo grounds. One person reportedly was taken from the scene in an ambulance.
In Twitter post, police said there was an isolated incident near the rodeo grounds and there is no current public safety threat. Police provided no additional information Monday night.
Northbound traffic on Route 38 was detoured onto Bruin Road while police remained at the scene. Southbound traffic was detoured at Fairview Road. The North Washington Volunteer Fire Department was assisting police.
