Butler Twp. approves paving, parks upgrades
BUTLER TWP — Township commissioners voted Monday to advertise for bids to pave and seal two roads.
Work will be done on the entire portion of Evans Road inside the township as well as a vast majority of Litman Road, except for the end closest to Route 8.
Commissioners hope to complete the paving later this year while school isn’t in session.
Commissioners also approved a Butler County Parks and Recreation Grant Application Resolution as part of an annual effort to maintain and upgrade municipal parks.
Just over $6,000 of the funds will be allocated to replacing the trail signs at Saw Mill Run Park, while around $2,000 will be put toward replacing a stove. Two event signs will be crafted at a cost of $480.
The signs will display information on township-sponsored events scheduled in June through October.
Commissioners expect know if they have secured the grant funding sometime in April.
