Hilliards woman accused of homicide charged in separate theft case
The 19-year-old woman accused of shooting and killing a West Sunbury man on Monday has also been charged with a theft related incident that happened earlier this month, police said.
Jessica L. Callahan, of Hilliards, was charged with misdemeanor theft alongside Frank Severino, 67, of Parker, for an alleged incident on March 12 at Giant Eagle in Slippery Rock. The charges were filed last week.
On Tuesday, police said Callahan was charged with felony criminal homicide in connection to the death of Tyler J. Whitlatch, 31, of West Sunbury.
In regards to the alleged theft, police said Callahan and Severino entered the store around 7:45 p.m. on March 12 and filled a shopping cart with items. The two then left the store without paying for the items, which were estimated to be worth between $400 and $500, police said.
