Clayton A. Geibel, 72, of Carbon Center died Wednesday at his home.

He was born Nov. 23, 1936, in Carbon Center, a son of the late Paul J. and Alberta Neigh Geibel.

Mr. Geibel worked as a bricklayer, stonemason and cement finisher for 50 years. He worked out of Bricklayers Union Local 9 in Pittsburgh and retired in 1998.

Clayton was an avid hunter and greatly enjoyed spending time at his camp in Kane, McKean County, and the loop. He also loved being with his children and grandchildren.

He was a founding and life member of the Happy Hunters Sportsmen's Club and also was a member of the Roman Catholic Men's Club in Herman and the East Butler Fire Hall.

He was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center.

His wife, Bernadette A. George Geibel, who he married April 14, 1956, survives him. Also surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Tracey and Tom Bruckman of Fenelton, Cindy and Joe Green of Fenelton, and Kelly and Bill Schultz of Butler; two sons, Casey Geibel of Butler and Scott Geibel and his wife, Lisa, of Fenelton; a brother and his wife, Conrad and Thelda Geibel of Butler; four sisters, Mrs. Maxine Baldoff of Butler, Mrs. Gladys Steighner of Herman, Mrs. Ralph (Lois) Morrison of Butler and Mrs. Leo (Marylee) Rosenbauer, also of Butler; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Geibel of Butler. Twelve grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

A brother and three infant children preceded him in death.

<B>GEIBEL </B>— Friends of Clayton A. Geibel, who died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center. Burial will follow in the St. Wendelin Cemetery.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
