The Hays Pittsburgh bald eagles welcomed an eaglet just after noon Sunday, March 26, and another soon may be on the way.

“We have a confirmed PIP (Peep is Pecking) on the second egg at the Pittsburgh Hays bald eagle nest,” Pix Cams, which hosts the 24/7 livestream, said in a Facebook post Monday morning.

The Hays eagles laid two eggs this year, on Feb. 17 and Feb. 20. Monday marked 38 days since the first egg was laid — bald eagle eggs typically take around 35 to 38 days to hatch.

Additionally, osprey started building their nest Monday at Moraine State Park. The 24/7 livestream, called the Moraine Preservation Fund Osprey Camera, shows a nest along the shoreline of Lake Arthur in Moraine State Park.
