State police investigate murder-suicide in Armstrong County

Kittanning state police released information on a murder-suicide that occurred Tuesday, April 4, in Armstrong County.

Troopers said in a statement Wednesday, April 5, that between 5:51 p.m. and 6:11 p.m. Tuesday, an altercation ensued between Trenton Johns and his wife in a home on Elkin Road in Boggs Township, Armstrong County.

Documents show the wife was attempting to leave when Johns pulled a gun from his pants and shot her from behind. Johns then used the gun to kill himself, police said.
