Bernard C. Geibel
Bernard Cyril Geibel 69, formerly of Chicora and Pittsburgh, died Wedn-esday at his home in Evansville, Ind., surrounded by his family.
He was born in 1937 to the late Sylvester and Matilda Geibel, and he grew up in Chicora.
Mr. Geibel attended the Fairview Township Karns City High School as well as Western Pennsylvania Technical Institute upon graduation.
As a young man, he worked for the Westinghouse Corp. in Pittsburgh, before joining the Army National Guard. He later worked for the Walter C. Doe Co. in Washington, D.C., and Auburn and Associates in Pittsburgh. He continued his career at L.K. Comstock Engineering in Pittsburgh, where he worked on various industrial electrical projects all over the United States.
He moved his family to Evansville in 1985, where he helped open a branch office for Comstock. He retired from R.T. Patterson Co. in 2001. Upon retirement, he was a part-time consultant for Project Associates.
After retirement, he helped build three homes for Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed family trips and gatherings, working in the yard and home remodeling projects.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Anne Gaisford Geibel of Evansville; four daughters, Laurie Williams and her husband, Dale, of Evansville, Barbara Salee and her husband, Joe, of Columbus, Ind., Sharon Ewing and her husband, Darren, of Rockport, Ind., and Holly Rupprecht and her husband, Craig, of Louisville, Ky; a son, Tim Geibel and his wife, Cindy, of Newburgh, Ind., and 11 grandchildren, Adam and Anthony Visk, Sean and Rachel Ewing, Katie and Paul Salee, Alex Williams, Amy, Samantha and Ethan Geibel and Eric Rupprecht.
Also surviving are two brothers, Sid Geibel and his wife, Rita, of Chicora and Leon Geibel and his wife, Josephine, of Hagerstown, Md.; a sister, Eileen Slater and her husband, Ray, of Butler, and his faithful dog, Midnight.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Adrian Geibel, and a sister-in-law, Madeline Geibel.

Hebron Ave., Evansville. Ind.Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home and continued at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 613 Cherry St., Evansville, with the Rev.
