Ruth Beatrice Walchesky

Ruth Beatrice Walchesky, 95, of Cabot and formerly of Saxonburg, passed away Thursday at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

She was born April 25, 1921, in Roslyn, Wash., to the late Lamont Bestwick and the late Nancy Lawson Bestwick.

Mrs. Walchesky was a homemaker. She was a member of Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Walchesky dearly loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed crocheting and loved to write poetry.

Mrs. Walchesky is survived by one son, Stanley F. Walchesky and his wife, Carol, of Cabot; two grandchildren, Stanley L. Walchesky of Cabot, and Stacy Kiley and her husband, William, of Cabot; three great-grandchildren, Lynn Ruth Penn and her husband, Steve, of Cabot, Scott Kiley and his wife, Sara, of Tarentum, Pa., and Christopher Walchesky; and also two great-great-grandsons, Matthew Penn and Mason Penn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank S. Walchesky, who she married on Nov. 18, 1937, and who passed away on July 24, 2005; three brothers and one sister.

WALCHESKY — Friends of Ruth Beatrice Walchesky, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Douglas M. Dorsey of Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial will take place in the Saxonburg Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Saxonburg Memorial United Presbyterian Church, 100 E. Main St., Saxonburg, PA 16056 or Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
