BUTLER TWP — Homeowners from near and far traveled to the Butler County Home Show for ideas, consultation and fun Friday night.

The 12th annual show featured more than 100 vendors at the Family Sports Center, and several food trucks serving the masses outside.

Spectators paraded the rows of roofers, plumbers, bathroom renovators, home internet providers, and gutter and window installers, talking with employees from local and nationwide businesses.

Rocco Lamanna, show manager, said the goal of the event is to benefit the homeowners in Butler, as well as the local businesses.

“We want these local (places) to get as much business as they can. Some vendors have been here all 12 years,” he said. “Typically, we get over 5,000 people over three days.”

The show will continue through the weekend, opening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 15, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 16.

Dan and Sandy Mullen, of Cranberry, said they were pleasantly surprised at the variety the home show offered.

“We’re in the market for a roof,” Dan Mullen said. “There’s lots here. Even stuff you didn’t know you needed.”

“Nobody’s been pushy. Everyone’s been very helpful and respectful,” Sandy Mullen said.

Agnes Rearick, of Beaver County, said she attended the show with her sister, Irene Fritz, of Zelienople. They both had attended the show in previous years.

“This is not my first time here,” Fritz said smiling. “I was looking forward to it, so I made up my mind to be here today.”

Fritz said she was gathering information for a kitchen renovation in the future, whereas Rearick said she was looking at gutters with her husband.

“They had a lot of people (here), it was comparable to Pittsburgh,” she said. “We had fun.”
