Sara E. (Ippie) O'Donnell

Sara E. (Ippie) O’Donnell, 84, of Butler passed away at 1:05 a.m. Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born on Sept. 22, 1929, in Carbon Center to the late Robert J. Morrow and Winora C. (Smith) Morrow.

Sara was a homemaker and a retired registered nurse.

She was a member of the North Street Christian Church and the Butler Memorial Hospital Alumnae Association. Sara was also with the foster grandparent program.

Sara is survived by her daughter, Mariann Muir and her husband, Dennis, of Butler; her two sons, Gary Lee O’Donnell and his wife, Judy, of Fenelton, and James E. O’Donnell and his wife, Debi, of Butler; her 12 grandchildren; her 15 great-grandchildren; her brother, Benjamin A. Morrow and his wife, Alice, of Butler, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry O. O’Donnell, who she married on Nov. 17, 1951, and who passed away on July 20, 1981; her son, Harry Jay O’Donnell; her two sisters, and her seven brothers.

O'Donnell — The friends of Sara E. (Ippie) O'Donnell, who passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the North Street Christian Church, 220 W. North St., Butler, with Pastor Robert C. Huber officiating.
