Margaret Ann 'Peggy' Fitzpatrick Scheetz

Margaret Ann “Peggy” Fitzpatrick Scheetz, 65, of 821 E. Jefferson St., Butler, died tragically in a fire at her home early Friday morning along with her son, Lawrence F. “Jake” Sheetz Jr., 43, of the same address.

Peggy was born in Butler on Aug. 23, 1946, a daughter of John P. and Elizabeth “Bess” Osche Fitzpatrick.

She was a homemaker and was well known for her cooking and baking abilities.

She had been a cook at the former Rusty Nail Restaurant and at the Evans Inn and had worked for Friedman's Supermarket at its West Brady Street location.

Peggy enjoyed playing bingo and most of all being with her grandchildren.

Peggy and Jake were members of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Butler.

Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Mandy McKinney (Paul) of East Butler and Dena Richardson (Jay) of Volant; nine grandchildren, Lynsey Bleicher, Jenifer Hasychak, Faith and Athena Richardson, Craig Brothers, Jeremy and Nathan Minto and Nicholas and Alex McKinney; two brothers, Kevin Jim (Deborah) Fitzpatrick and Eric Scott (Nancy) Fitzpatrick, all of Butler; and a sister, Elizabeth “Bonnie” (Earl) Tirk, of Butler.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Fitzpatrick Krauchak, and a brother, John P. Fitzpatrick Jr.

<B>SCHEETZ</B> — Friends of Margaret Ann “Peggy” Fitzpatrick Scheetz, who died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, will be received at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A combined memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the St. Peter Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler. The Rev. James W. Dolan will officiate.The family requests memorial donations to help with expenses in care of Geibel Funeral Home.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
