Elevated wildfire risk Thursday, officials say
Butler and surrounding counties are at increased risk of wildfire spread Thursday, according to the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh.
A special weather statement said dry conditions and humidity will elevate the possibility of fire catching dry grasses and tree litter.
Residents were asked to use extreme caution when handling ignition sources such as machinery, cigarettes or matches.
Temperatures in Butler County are expected to rise to 82 degrees today.
