Patricia B. Davis

Patricia Louise Brown Davis, 86, died at the Hunterdon Care Center, Flemington, N.J.

Born in 1919 in Pittsburgh, she grew up in Oakland and Wilkinsburg.

She graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a degree in teaching and was a member of Pi Lambda Theta teaching sorority. She taught in the Bridgeville school system and then worked as a program director at the YMCA in Wilkinsburg.

After marriage in 1957, she moved to Forest Hills and had a son in 1960.

In Forest Hills, she was active in the Women's League and in the Hope Lutheran Church. In 1970, after her husband's retirement, they moved to Branchton, where she was active in the Branchton United Methodist Church, serving many roles including as a long-time Sunday school teacher.

She returned to New Jersey in 2000, where she attended the Hopewell United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm and Jean Davis of Lambertville, N.J.; a step-daughter, Caroll Eckroat of Pittsburgh; two step-sons, Ronald Davis of Commerce, Mich., and Daniel Davis of Elizabethtown, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Evan A. Davis.

<B>DAVIS</B> - Funeral services for Patricia Louise Brown Davis will be held Thursday in New Jersey. A service will be held in the chapel at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Pittsburgh at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of Branchton United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call at the chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of burial service.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.BLACKWELL MEMORIAL HOME in Pennington, N.J., is handling arrangements.
