M. Elizabeth “Betty” Diehl Jones, 94, of Butler passed away Thursday.

She was born in Butler on July 14, 1918, and was the widow of the late Robert C. Jones. They married Sept. 19, 1943, and he died April 26, 2006.

She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Jones Litteral.

Betty is survived by her son, Timothy R. Jones and his wife, Judy, of Butler, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Litteral of Bar Harbor, Maine.

Betty was a graduate of Butler High School and Grace Martin Secretarial School in Pittsburgh.

She was a member of the Diehl family, owners of the former Diehl Bakery on Center Avenue in Butler. Betty worked for Butler County Community College in the nursing department and the Butler County Area Agency on Aging. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking.

JONES — Friends of M. Elizabeth “Betty” Diehl Jones, who passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, with the Rev. Dave West of the GraceWay Community Church officiating.
