Harmony Scout earns his Eagle

Luke Wilson of Harmony earned the rank of Eagle Scout on Jan. 30.

The Eagle Court of Honor will be this summer.

Luke is a member of Troop 457 of Zelienople. His parents are Mike and Alicia Wilson of Harmony.

For his Eagle Scout project, Luke built an 8 by 8 garden shed for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Zelienople.

The shed, which houses a lawn mower and other equipment for the maintenance crew, took about two months to build and is located in the parking lot area. A plaque was placed on the door and the shed was dedicated last summer by the congregation.

The 16-year-old has been an active Scout for 11 years and has earned 30 merit badges. He served as senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, quartermaster, patrol leader and assistant patrol leader.

Luke plans to graduate from Seneca Valley High School in 2020. He is considering attending the First Energy’s Power System’s Institute to become a line worker or substation electrician for a power company.
